Three Wishes

I truly believe anyone who wishes for something they need should be granted those wishes. Often a wish equates to a want, and let's face it - wants are insatiable.

As for me, I don't have much, but I am comfortable because I seem to have everything I need - a small but cosy home, a beautiful wife, a wonderful son, loving parents, a great brother and an amazing group of friends.

I really don't need to wish for any more for I am grateful for all I have, so the best I can come up with are these three wishes:

1. I wish to those around me continue to be well.
2. I wish to take my career to the next level.
3. I wish all of my nine-year-old son's wishes will come true, which at last check were, as written by Justin himself:

"If I had three wishes i would wish for world peace,a genie so i could wish for more wishes and i will use the last wish for a white grand piano!_!"

I will have to talk to the boy about being too greedy...

For Sunday Scribblings.

I just love how you started your post with a list of the things that you are grateful for!

Thanks for sharing your wishes, and thanks for sharing the dreams of your son, too--such a fabulous boy he is (and I truly feel that he balanced out any "greed" with the "world peace" wish! :)

It's very nice to meet you!

I don't think Justin is being too greedy at all - the world should have loads of wishes to go around - especially if everyone is wishing for world peace. A grand piano could be more problematic however ...

More piano players are needed in the world!!! And, what better way to showcase his talents. Sounds like your son has things straight...the piano sounded more like an afterthought anyway. Enjoyed the post...gratitude is what it is all about.

I can't imagine much that's sweeter than a 9-year old wishing for world peace! I'd forgive him a little fanciful wishing, just for coming up with world peace on his own. I remember thinking white grand pianos were the ultimate musical instrument/room accessory. when I was that age, too.

nice piece, john. now you've got me thinking if we had one wish, to wish to be happy with what we already have, maybe we would have world peace.

well, we might still all live in caves but the world would be peaceful and we'd be happy - but you'd have no business, john! d'oh, i'll have to rethink that one.

the best wish - it's got to be the white piano!
